The weather out here is schizophrenic. It has been beautiful-- mild and sunny, and out of nowhere comes the monsoon. I guess that's why the countryside is so green all the time.
We get "out of the wire" quite a bit. Last weekend we went to Prizren, which is a city of extreme hisotric importance for many people. It was ruled b the Roman, the Bulgrarian, the Serbians, the Byzantines, and the Ottoman during their respective imperial epochs. To the Serbs, it was known as the "Byzantium of Serbia." The Turks built a larg fortress atop the hills that surround the city.
It is a beautiful place that we will visit again.
