Mr. Meet and Greet

It's very cool to meet as many interesting people as I have here. Last week I went to cover the story of a staff sergeant who helped get medical care for a baby girl born with a hole in her heart.

Baby Viona's condition prevented her from growing healthy-- she was around five pounds at nine months of age. You were five pound before you were even born! At any rate, this Soldier worked tirelessly to find a charity that would sponsor the life-saving operation, which she successfully underwent in Italy.

She is healthy and strong, and her parents ar very grateful.

Earlier, I met a girl who is trainng to become an officer in the Kosovo Security Force. She was in the first graduating class, so that means she is the first female officer in the first modern security force in her country's history. Pretty neat.

Today I met dozens of doctors and health care providers from all over the world. There was even a German doctor here from Livermore. Small world.

It's a great opportunity. Next time, I'll bring you and your mom and we can meet all these people together.
